Overdrive

I have heard of overdrive and I think this is really cool. I only wish I could transfer the mp3s to my ipod.

podcast

I think podcasts are pretty neat. The idea of broadcasting audio using the ipod is very interesting and cool.

Youtube

I think youtube is a very resourceful tool. I actually tried to find PBCLS video in the search but had no luck. However, there are some videos that should be remove due to the fact they are illegal and dangerous. Unfortunately, that would violate the first amendment so all is game

Web 2.0 and the winner is.....

I like how this site lists all the awards, however, I disagree with facebook being put in 2nd place. I think facebook should be first place and myspace should be second. Twitter ( I think ) is fairly new and not many people have heard of it.

Zoho Writer

I have to say this is website is pretty cool. As I was reading about Zoho, I think it would very convenient to able to work online as well as offline on documents.

PB Wiki Experience

I think this is wonderful that we are collaborating websites on PBWiki. I feel a sense of community when we share ideas to others. I hope to get to know more of the staff from other branches.

I think wikis is a neat little feature. If you need a fast fix on a website, this is the tool to use.

I think the that the term "Web 2.0" refers to a how the libraries will convey information in different forms of media. It will revolutionize how libraries will function in the future.

Technorati - a new political party..lol

I found http://www.technorati.com/ reminded me of google.com. I think the major difference is that google does not have social tags to find different types of information.

Before I typed in "http://del.icio.us/" my first impression was of food. I thought I was going to see what is consider delicious. After reading what the site is about, I think this is amazing way to organized bookmarks.

re: Neat!!

I think it's amazing how you can just take the headings of each article and not have to visit each site. The RSS feature is very compact.

Technology

Recently, I found out about a website called www.hulu.com. This site allows you to view your tv shows and movies for free!!!! It also has older tv shows and movies too. Another interesting website is www.jott.com. This site allows you to use your cell phone to send emails for free. Let's say you had an idea or a message. You would call up the jott number and say who you want to send a message to via email.

School Safety

I wish one of the presidential candidates would discuss how they would make schools safer in America. Since 1996, there have been at least one school shooting. It seems to me that guns are accessible to students. I am a student and I hate hearing about violence in schools. The link below will you show the following statistics about each school shooting.

Social Networking Privacy

For my first post, I would like to argue about why I think social networking groups: facebook and myspace are not keeping users safe. When you first sign up with either of these websites, your profile is consider public domain. I think all profile should be private regardless, and if the person given you permission then you may view their profile. Expressing yourself online is very dangerous. It could lead to bullying, lying, losing a job, and much much more.
